Anthony (A.J.) Bartlett (b. 1987) grew up in North Carolina and studied Communication Studies at UNC and Digital Filmmaking & Photography at The Art Institute of Charlotte where he concentrated on independent American cinema and contemporary media through the lens of black creativity.

In 2014, Anthony founded Upon Further Review, a collective that produced a documentary short about mental health awareness, Black Friday. It was screened at the Joedance Film Festival and the DC Black Film Festival in 2017.

Anthony moved to New York City in October 2017 and continued freelancing all around the camera. He has 7+ years of experience producing visual content for reality TV, commercials, independent documentaries, live events, music videos, feature-length films, digital marketing initiatives, internet news services, and more.
